between july 2012 and august 2013 I was on the artist teacher scheme. i looked at various ideas across a wide range of mediums in a conscious effort to step away from my comfort zone of ceramics. i finalised on creating an installation in response to a series of phrases that spewed out of my conscious one evening in my old studio – known as “life lies” they are all things that are there for so many of us never discussing how they affect us, and just accept them as part of the learning curve of life, yet none are true. there are many that i came up with but these are the shortlist that were most easily represented. the installation was a series of objects, each one representing a “lie”, but illustrating the ‘ideal home’ of the ‘ideal life’ we are all meant to aspire to.
